 The UNAP Staff

UNAP is fortunate to have a professional, highly dedicated, and skilled staff that work for the benefit of our members and the patients we serve.

Linda McDonald, President

Linda has been a Registered Nurse at RI Hospital for over 25 years. Linda has worked as a critical care nurse, as well as a research nurse. In 1993, Linda played a leading role in organizing the RI Hospital UNAP, and was elected president of the RI Hospital UNAP in 1994. Linda was also elected president of the United Nurses & Allied Professionals (the parent organization of the RI Hospital UNAP) in 2001, and she works full-time for the UNAP to fulfill both roles. Linda has an Associates Degree in Nursing from the Community College of RI.
Rick Brooks, Director

Rick has worked in numerous capacities within the labor movement for over 25 years. As Director, he oversees administration, communications, political action, professional issues, strategic planning and policy for UNAP.  In addition, he serves as the staff representative for the 1,900 members of the RI Hospital UNAP local.  Rick has a MS Degree in Labor Relations from the University of Rhode Island.
Jack Callaci, Director, Collective Bargaining & Organizing 

Jack has worked for the UNAP since its formation in 1998, and has over 25 years experience as a union representative. He has successfully negotiated dozens of health care contracts and has organized thousands of non-union health care professionals. Jack has a MS degree in Labor Relations from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Jeanne Jose, Organizer

Jeanne first became active in organizing when she helped lead a successful organizing campaign at the Brattleboro Retreat, Vermont, where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Jeanne went on to become her local union President, and worked for several years as a health care organizer in Vermont. Jeanne has worked for the UNAP since 1998, helping non-union employees to organize in hospitals, health care, and human service agencies in Connecticut, Vermont and Rhode Island.

Chris Callaci, General Counsel

Chris has been working for the UNAP since 1998 and is admitted to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  As General Counsel, Chris represents the UNAP in labor arbitration, proceedings before the RI Departments of Health and Labor & Training, the National Labor Relations Board, the RI State Labor Relations Board, and the U.S. Department of Labor.  Chris also handles contract negotiations and mediation and appears on behalf of the UNAP in the state and federal courts of RI.  Chris represents the UNAP in matters before the Office of the Attorney General and the General Assembly.  Chris also provides the UNAP with legal advice on all matters pertaining to collective bargaining and various state and federal labor laws.

 Joe Iadevaia, Field Representative

Joe Iadevaia has been working as a Field Representative for UNAP since February of 2008 providing representation at grievance hearings, arbitrations, and contract negotiations.  He has also been providing training for Local 5098 officers and unit reps.  Prior to this he was the President of Local 1293 and the State Vice President for Council 94 AFSCME as well as providing representation in Local 580 SEIU.
